Power Outlets & Electrical Sockets in NZ
We carry over 700 power outlets and electrical sockets ready to go, all stocked here in NZ. Standard 10A wall sockets, weatherproof, RCD-protected, smart outlets and electrical plugs.
What's in the Range
The bulk of this catalogue is standard electrical socket outlets; single, double, and quad configurations, horizontal and vertical, flush- and surface-mounted. This covers most residential and light-commercial installations on a day-to-day basis.
Beyond the standard stuff, the range breaks down into:
Standard 10A sockets
Singles, doubles, quads, switched and unswitched, across multiple brands and finishes. Check out our full range of standard sockets if that's all you need.
15A, 20A, and 32A outlets
For workshop setups, commercial kitchen circuits, EV charging prep, and any high-draw application where a standard 10A power socket won't cut it.
Weatherproof outlets
IP53 and IP66-rated sockets for outdoor installs, garages, alfresco areas, and anywhere exposed to moisture.
RCD electrical sockets
Built-in residual-current device protection is required in certain locations under AS/NZS 3000, and a solid spec applies to any circuit near water.
USB-integrated outlets
Power sockets with built-in USB-A and USB-C ports are increasingly specified on new builds and commercial fitouts.
Smart and Bluetooth outlets
For home-automation installs and commercial builds where clients want app- or voice-control.
Desk and floor-mount outlets
Pop-up modules, flush floor boxes, and worktop sockets for commercial fitouts and open-plan offices.
Caravan and architrave outlets
For mobile power applications and narrow-profile retrofits where a standard backbox won't fit.
Electrical plugs
Rewirable plug tops, side-entry plugs, and 15A plugs for higher-draw equipment. Worth keeping a few in the van.
Can't find what you're looking for? We also stock industrial sockets for more demanding projects.
How to Choose the Right Power or Electrical Socket
Standard residential new build or reline
This is the 10A flush-mount sweet spot. Singles and doubles in horizontal and vertical configs, switched as standard. PDL 600 Series and Iconic cover most of what gets specced on a typical NZ residential job. If the client wants USB charging built into the power socket, Vynco Metro and Iconic both have integrated USB-A and USB-C options.
Retrofit or surface mount, where you can't cut in
Surface-mount sockets are your call. Architraves and surface blocks for the narrower spots, standard surface-mount boxes where space allows. The Vynco Logix and PDL architrave range covers most retrofit scenarios without requiring contact with the wall.
Outdoor, garage, alfresco, or anywhere near moisture
Go weatherproof. IP53 is the minimum for a covered outdoor area. For a fully exposed install, like a carport post, a garden shed exterior, or anywhere that takes direct rain, IP66 is what you want. Vynco Metro Outdoor and the PDL weatherproof range offer IP53- and IP66-rated electrical sockets in single- and double-configuration options.
Workshop, commercial kitchen, or high-draw equipment circuit
Standard 10A won't handle it. Once a circuit is pulling more than 2,300W, you're into 15A territory. Under AS/NZS 3112, the 15A electrical plugs use a wider 8mm earth pin specifically to stop them from being inserted into a 10A socket, a deliberate safety mechanism built into the standard. The 15A, 20A, and 32A outlet range covers workshop fitouts, commercial kitchen circuits, and EV charging prep.
Bathroom, laundry, or any circuit near water
RCD electrical sockets are mandatory in these locations under NZ wiring rules. The 30mA trip threshold is standard for personal protection. Built-in RCD sockets eliminate the need for a separate RCD on those circuits, resulting in a cleaner solution for bathroom and laundry installs.
Commercial fitout, boardroom, or open-plan office
Desk and floor-mount outlets are the call. Pop-up modules, flush floor boxes, and worktop sockets in the Legrand and Iconic ranges are all in stock. Pair them with matching switches and cover plates from the same range to keep the finish consistent across the fitout.

a broad range covering residential and commercial applications. Good option when you need one brand to span both markets on the same job.Legrand
